The S&P500 and Nasdaq Composite charged ahead in the 4th quarter of 2019 on improvement in the China trade war with the S&P500 rising 8.53%* and the Nasdaq gaining 12.98%*. (* percentages listed without dividends) For the year, the S&P500 gained 33.07% (including dividend reinvestment) and the Nasdaq earned 39.39% (with dividends reinvested).
The stock markets uptrend, which started in January and was re-confirmed in May with a “higher low,” remained healthy through the Christmas rally.
