Current Market Outlook
BLOG POST: Our Current Market Outlook is “Market in an Uptrend” and our light is “green.“
Happy Thanksgiving! What a special day and time of the year. A day set aside to give thanks for our blessings. But not to just give thanks, but to be thankful towards God – our benevolent Creator and Father.
I am thankful for…
It may sound cliche, but a new era is dawning. Like him or not, President Trump is a man of vision and purpose. Arguably, he is the most intentional President since Ronald Reagan (if not in our lifetime) when it comes to fighting for the average citizen and for our nation’s standing overseas. He has nothing else to prove in life, and I believe his desire is to make America great again. I for one am “enlisting” and am ready to work hard and do my share and more. Please join us.
The stock market is continuing in its “Trump 2.0” market-launch honeymoon.
Unfortunately, optimism (and even euphoria) is very high in the equity markets now making many stock valuations a bit lofty. Enjoy the bump but look for opportunities to “buy the dip” going forward.
After a brief pause and downgrade to yellow two weeks ago, our Current Market Outlook was upgraded again to “Market in an Uptrend” with a green light as of the close on November 22nd with the SPX @ 5,969.34. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 remain well above their important 50-day mav’s and the trend is still up. Our Core Four now has 3 green & 1 red lights. The VIX has plunged well below its 50-day mav and is positive.
After blasting out to all-time highs with the resounding win by President Trump, the major indexes have successfully tested and held their 21-day mav’s. More importantly, the key indexes remain well above their 50-day mav’s – the bulls are in control. Our Core Four has improved a bit with the aforementioned three green lights but the investor sentiment reading is disconcertingly high.
A couple of weeks ago after the election we wrote, “Enjoy the day and the blessing of new opportunities that lie before us. Begin to think longer term now as you plan your entries. But above all, always practice prudent risk management tactics.” That advice still holds true. And for that… I am thankful, too.
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100NASB 1995
Game plan: We at TPM wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving! Remain hopeful and seek love, mercy and unity. Begin employing your capital with a longer-term mindset as you implement your action plan. Ask for wisdom from Jesus. Please pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-7). May they prosper who love her.
