Current Market Outlook
BLOG POST: Our Current Market Outlook is “Uptrend Under Pressure” and our light is “yellow.“
Most American’s are unaware of the significance (let alone the existence) of All Saints Day each November 1st. Yet, in many countries around the world it is observed and celebrated by millions of faith-minded people.
In its simplest form, ASD is, “a day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven,” according to catholic.org. They also stated, “Following the Protestant Reformation, many Protestants retained the holy day, although they dismissed the need to pray for the dead. Instead, the day has been used to commemorate those who have recently died, usually in the past year, and to remember the examples of those who lived holy lives.” (Emphasis added.) The best example obviously for us is Jesus Himself.
Now that is something worth celebrating: a life lived righteously and in holiness, that is submitted to the Lordship of Jesus and brings glory to God! Only God knows the true “heart” condition of each person, but a “tree is known by its fruit.” We need to ask ourselves if our actions are always worthy for us to be called a “saint.” (Mine aren’t… but I am one, because of Jesus! He took the curse in my place! Yours, too. Praise God!)
Admittedly neither of the candidates running for President are “saints” in the most popular use/meaning of that word. But that being said, there is one candidate who stands head and shoulders above the other in the areas of oval office experience, international respect, proven leadership and “battle-tested” courage, and that person is President Trump. Say what you may about his sainthood (the same is true about us) but keep in mind we aren’t voting for a “pastor.” We are voting for the leader of the free world – a world that is increasingly dangerous and confused. We don’t need another confused leader at this critical time so that we can “make history.” Also, forget the holier than thou attitude and pick the best candidate based on their alignment with important biblical values. The fruit of their recent work/accomplishments tells much.
The news flow over the next several days will be enormous and significant. The pivotal US jobs report comes tomorrow morning, a tsunami of corporate earnings announcements, the election on the 5th, the Fed interest rate decision on the 6th (Editor’s note: This date has been changed to the 7th by the Fed), and a possible large China stimulus plan late next week. Buckle up and hang on!
Our Current Market Outlook remains “Uptrend Under Pressure” with a yellow light. The upgrade to yellow started at 2:30pm on 09/11/24, with the SPX @ 5,518.19. If the Nasdaq and S&P 500 continue to trade above their respective 50-day mav’s, the trend remains up. Our Core Four now shows 1 green, 1 red & 2 yellow lights. The VIX continues above its 50-day mav (a warning!). Note: The negative divergence pattern is no longer in play on the Nasdaq.
Today’s action on the main indexes looks frightful. Down sharply on high volume on the S&P 500 is certainly no treat for investors. Both the S&P and the Nasdaq are slashing down through their respective 21-day mav’s today and that is technically scary. Tomorrow is a big day. Not just spiritually to thank God for the examples of true Christian believers, but also financially to see if the market finds support with the “first day of the month inflows” or if it knives further down and assaults the 50-day mav’s. (Thank God that assurance is not found in mammon but in Christ.)
“As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the majestic ones in whom is all my delight.” Psalm 16:3
“Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’” Daniel 7:27 NASB 1995
Game plan: Remain focused and be not lazy or distracted. Study the price & volume relationship of leading stocks and the main indexes and finalize your election/news action plan. Next Tuesday is a choice between socialism/communism and the future loss of liberties vs. capitalism and a free Republic. Ask Jesus for wisdom. Please also pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6-7). May they prosper who love her.
